HUNDREDS of beautiful girls from all over Queensland made their way to Westfield, Chermside this weekend to audition for the Rimmel London Girlfriend Model Search 2014.
The giggle of 13-18 year olds lined up for hours to impress the judging panel, which included 2004 winner and Tweed Heads local Samantha Harris, Editor of Girlfriend Magazine Sara Tarca, Chic Management’s Ursula Hufnagl, and Australian YouTube star Lauren Curtis.
With a two year contract with Chic Management, a chance to be represented by Next Model Management overseas, two Girlfriend Magazine photoshoots, and a year supply of Rimmel London Cosmetics up for grabs, each girl was playing to win with her own unique style, and Gold Coaster Nalani Novis, 18, was no exception.
The green-haired, blue-heeled beauty certainly stood out among the other girls; a trait which had come in handy a few years before.
“I’ve auditioned three times now, and I was actually lucky enough to pick up a small deal with Dr Martens. I did a shoot and a show and I got to keep the shoes!”
Nalani said she’ll be digging into her extensive collection of jumpers to rug up this winter.
“I just can’t stay away from my jumpers and cardigans. I’ve had them for ages and they’re still so good.”
When contest judge Lauren Curtis was asked what her go-to Winter style was, she declared that leather was a must-have.
“Boots, leather pants, big, baggy shirts, and a leather jacket; black and white!”
Lauren stuck to her theme with some black, leather Gucci boots, some leather pants and a white, caped shirt she bought from a boutique close to her home in Bondi.
The Rimmel London Girlfriend Model Search 2014 wrapped up auditions in Brisbane on Saturday, and the contest will see to girls from Sydney and Melbourne over the next few weeks.
