Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – Blenheim, QLD.

NESTLED quietly in the the Lockyer Valley, Blenheim is the host of some spectacular scenery. With beautiful country views and luscious paddocks, it was the perfect setting for local resident, and my mother, Chayne Wellman, to host her own morning tea to help raise funds for the Australian Cancer Council.

The view guests were greeted with as they arrived at Blenheim’s Morning Tea.

Surrounded by an assortment of cakes, pastries and coffee, guests took kindly to the friendly atmosphere and beautiful sun that was beaming down on this seemingly perfect winters day.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and if that’s the case then everyone that attended today would have been granted a perfect bill of health. Whilst guests shared memories and a cup of fresh coffee, they looked out towards the Lockyer Valley and breathed in the fresh country air that surrounded them.

Our beautiful Labrador, Ella, greeted each guest with a friendly lick of approval as they walked through the gates, and then checked again by our Head of Security, Fox Terrier x Chihuaha ‘Poppy’, to ensure that they weren’t bringing in any undeclared food.

'Ella' had no shame in sucking up to guests to try and nab some of their food.

No guest left empty handed, with everyone taking part in a raffle to test their luck. 14 prizes were up for grabs, so the tension was high as the tickets were called out. Kitchen sets, frying pans, mugs, candles, gift certificates and vouchers were handed out.

Once the initial festivities were over, guests slowly began to depart,  but not before they had the traditional Aussie ‘Sausage on Bread’ to fill their stomachs. At the end of the day, everyone started to head off, each of them leaving with not only their prizes, but a stomach full of goodies and a smile on their face.

Guests sat in the shade and shared memories and stories over a cup of coffee.

“It was fantastic to see people get together, mingle and laugh in the company of friends & family. It’s not something that can be re-created over a Skype call or at a business meeting.”
