The game that tears families, friends and pubs apart around the nation has officially come to an end, with New South Wales coming out victorious! Both sides put up a vicious fight, with Queensland leading 4-0 for most of the game, New South Wales returned with an incredibly lucky try near the end of the second half.
Queensland fought hard for the final 5 minutes, but Thurston’s controversial elbow tackle in the final minutes almost ended in a brawl, which wasted enough time to remove Queensland’s ability to come back and score a final try which would of won them the game, with only 1 minutes on the clock, it was highly unlikely that Queensland was going to keep their streak alive. New South Wales have re-claimed their title, and broken the 8 year losing streak finishing 6-4.
